Web series / Offshore racing projects in the lead with Hugo

12 meters JI, regatta monohull, offshore racing trimaran... At the end of summer in the Mediterranean, Hugo takes advantage of the opportunity to transport prestigious sailboats. Its objective: to perfect its offshore racing culture in order to be able to claim to embark as a team member in a regatta.

Hugo travels all over Europe to embark as a crew member on racing yachts. After the previous episode that made us participate in the classic sailing yacht regattas on France 1 he embarked on an 82-foot sloop, then on an ORMA trimaran. All these experiences guide him in his desire to participate in races.

We know Hugo for the beautiful adventure he shared with us with the renovation of a Ecume de Mer followed by a transatlantic race. He has already been sailing for 18 months, but for the summer of 2018, he leaves his boat at anchor in Martinique, and here he goes to Europe to work and participate in regattas.

Indeed, in addition to being an adventurous traveler, Hugo has a program in mind. He doesn't just want to sail with the wind and discover new spaces on his cruising sailboat. A lover of sailing speed, he would like to become a regatta sailor and participate in offshore races.

That's why in the following episodes, we find him transporting an 82-foot, luxury race-cruise sailboat. Alas the weather conditions in the Mediterranean are not ideal, preventing him from sailing on this sailboat on which we cannot reduce the sail!

And finally, on a renovated former 60-foot ORMA, he will cross the Mediterranean towards Malta in order to start the Middle Race on this racing trimaran. Unfortunately, the mechanics were playing tricks on him and a mainsail problem prevented the crew from being at the start. But the sailing at over 20 knots has really grabbed Hugo and reinforced his desire to take off in the race.
