103 knots for the 38 Grand Sport de Technohull

Technohull's 38 Grand Sport

Announced in May 2018, the 38 Grand Sport, an ultra-sporting 12-metre-long semi-rigid, should be available in a few months. With this model, the Greek manufacturer Technohull is taking the next step with a car capable of reaching 103 uds?!

103 nodes at compteur?!

Several units of the 38 Technohull's Grand Sport are under construction and are expected to be delivered in late summer 2019. This new model with an overall length of 11.60 m should send lourd?! The prototypes tested last year reached a record ground speed of 103 knots. A top speed that should be achieved in the open sea while maintaining the stability and comfort of the Technohull range, particularly thanks to its Dynastream hull.

The 38 Grand Sport can optionally accommodate two Mercury Verado 300/350/400/450/450 HP outboard engines or three 450 HP engines in the "super sport" version. With a master mate only 3.1 m wide, combined with a wave piercing bow - particularly slender front sections for low resistance - this new Technohull model is the most sporty ever produced by the Greek yard.

A patented shell

This performance is due to the patented Dynastream hull shape, developed over 5 years by an in-house team of naval architects. The hull design is based on three distinct steps to channel air and provide lift, act to cushion shocks and provide unprecedented stability at all speeds.

According to the yard, this hull shape is 10 to 15 % more efficient than the previous versions developed previously by the Greek manufacturer. This reduces fuel consumption and increases speed. The hull design also deflects spray and is flexible even in rough weather. The announced range is 220 miles.

A different layout

The deck layout is also different from the other models, with two sunbathing areas. In addition to the large front sunbathing area, two sun loungers are installed at the back, facing the sea. The profiled centre console is equipped with two exclusive shock-proof bucket seats that should guarantee maximum comfort, even at high speeds. Two other seat options are available: Shockwave or Ullman.

The rear seat has removable head cushions and ergonomic footrests for added comfort. The choice of fabrics is varied with several colors and styles.

A lot of comfort

The fact that the 38 Grand Sport is fast does not detract from the comfort it provides. Thus, the site has worked to offer a luxurious layout. In addition to the teak flooring, there is an electric toilet, an outdoor shower and the possibility of installing a comfortable cabin at the front.

The console can be sheltered by a hard-top for better weather resistance. An optional bimini will protect the cockpit. LED lighting illuminates the space while a bathing ladder can be deployed and adjusted at the touch of a button.

Many customization options are available, to have a "unique" model or to adapt it to the style of a large yacht to which it would be attached.
