Bali Catamarans presents a 40-foot catamaran, the CatSpace. Among the notable features, this 12-metre model offers up to 4 cabins and 10 berths, excluding the saloon.

Position yourself on the market of the 40-foot catamaran

Bali Catamarans, a French catamaran manufacturer based in Canet en Roussillon, has just announced the launch of a new sail model. Named Catspace, this 40-foot catamaran (11.80 m hull length) - whose design has been somewhat modernized - will be unveiled in January 2020 in Düsseldorf.

"Several elements led us to have this reflection. First, our 4.1 is actually a 42-foot and not a 40-foot. We therefore needed a smaller boat capable of positioning ourselves against the competition of the market: Lagoon 40, Lucia 40, Leopard 40... Finally, our core market is rental and the Catspace is intended for it, in its owner's version (3 cabins), but mainly in its 4 cabins version" explains Boris Compagnon, Sales Director of Bali Catamarans.

4 cabins and 10 berths

Mainly intended for rental, the Catspace is offered in 3 or 4 cabins with double beds and private bathroom. But where the site stands out is its ability to offer 10 beds, excluding the square. The latter will not be convertible into an additional bed.

"In practice we could have, but 10 people on a 40-foot boat is already a lot." says Brice Compagnon.

Indeed, the front cabins - whose layout has been revised to offer beds facing the sea - will accommodate a retractable bunk, ideal for sleeping a young child for example.

"The arrangement of the crossbeds is a new feature to offer a view of the sea and free up space for an additional retractable bed. This means that 4 identical beds are available at the front and rear. Often, the comfort is a little less in the front cabins, it will be different here" adds the sales manager.

Offer additional living areas

While the difference in length between the two models is not obvious: 12.12 m overall for the 4.1 against 12.33 m long for the Catspace and 11.88 m hull length for the first against 11.80 m for the second, the Catspace nevertheless offers a new outdoor living space.

"The Catspace is the only 40-foot catamaran to offer a large flybridge with a navigation area and a sunbathing area. This is an additional comfort zone. Our leitmotiv is to offer areas that did not exist before. This is what we had already done with a forward cockpit instead of a trampoline or with an open deck space, or what we are doing with this flybridge on a small catamaran. We make available to owners who were not previously available" concludes Boris Compagnon.

The Catspace - will be marketed at a standard price slightly lower than 300?000 euros excluding VAT - and presented in Düsseldorf in 2020. An engine version will also be available and announced soon by Bali Catamarans.
