When you go on a cruise, the question of travel ashore arises. Because if there is nothing more pleasant than strolling on foot during our stops, refuelling can be more problematic. Depending on the space on board, it is also not easy to be able to take a means of transport.
A light and compact folding electric bicycle
Thanks to Eovolt, a folding bike specialist based in Bourges, in the Cher region, this problem has now been solved. It offers the lightest electric bicycle on the market. With only 14 kg, for the lightest model, it would be wrong to do without it. Easily transportable - because they are well balanced with a handle on the frame - and ultra compact, it is therefore quite easy to store one or two models on board.
It is thanks to the components chosen and developed with its partners that Eovolt is able to gain almost 10 kilos over its competitors. For example, the frame and fork of the bicycles are made of 6061 aluminum, used in aviation for its lightness and rigidity, and does not rust.
Another special feature - and another advantage - bicycles fold very easily, in just a few seconds. Once folded, they do not take up any space, which optimizes storage on board.
A range of 4 models
The range is now composed of 4 models, assembled on site in Bourges:
- City
- Retro
Both models have the same features, but the Retro version has aluminum finishes
- Sport
- Comfort
It is a little heavier - 18 kg - but offers twice as much range as the previous models, as well as hydraulic disc brakes and a 7-speed Shimano derailleur. The wheels are also larger (20 inches).
For the nautical sector, the City or Retro models will be perfectly suited. More compact and practical, they optimize maximum space and are also lighter. This will reduce autonomy, but improve weight gain.
A refined design
Eovolt has particularly worked on the design of its bicycles to offer a refined and graceful product. The battery is located in the seat post, which improves the bike's line compared to models where it is located on the carrier or at the rear.
A wide range of equipment
All bicycles are equipped with an on-board computer that allows you to check your speed, battery status, number of kilometres covered... A USB port is integrated to recharge your electrical devices (camera, laptop, music, etc.).
For safety, the disc brakes are located at the front and rear. A sensor in the brakes automatically switches off the motor in the event of braking.
All bicycles have front - controllable from the on-board computer - and rear lighting.
Finally, many accessories are available for transport and comfort: waterproof transport bags, front and rear baskets, adaptable anti-theft device..
Electrical assistance and charging
The autonomy varies according to the models. Comfort is the one that will offer the maximum, with a range of 100 km with electric assistance. The other three models offer 50 km.
Eovolt bicycles have 5 levels of electric assistance, but are also usable without thanks to their light weight. They then turn into real classic bicycles.
Recharging the battery is easy. Simply remove the seat post, without having to disassemble the entire bike. Rechargeable on 220 volts, you will need to equip yourself with an adapter for on-board charging.

The parts are simple to design and therefore quick to change. Today, the brand is distributed through 300 points of sale in France, including stores dedicated to boating.
