The new Amel 60, a refined and marine interior (3/3)

The Amel's reputation for excellence but rusticity is well established. If excellence is always a key word for the Roche site, they can now replace rustic by functional and elegant. Since 10 years now that they have been collaborating with Olivier Racoupeau, interior design is a strong point of Amel.

Inside, we enter a universe

The first impression is always that of the descent, and this one gives the smile. It is very welcoming with a gentle, wide and ergonomic slope where you can even meet a team member.

As you enter the boat, you are struck by the modernity of the whole. The light-coloured woodwork of the furniture and floor probably had something to do with it. It gives off a very pleasant feeling of volume.

The large square is interrupted by a very refined central piece of furniture with storage space and a bar. In the Amel 60, there is no shortage of storage space for supplies, they are distributed in the fund as well as under the benches.

Ergonomics and life on board are handled in accordance with the best practices of long-distance navigation, while retaining a touch of elegance. The only drawers that open in the direction of the gite are equipped with a locking system.

The mirror TV screen is standard. The large chart table, which today is more of a desk, is positioned facing the shell plating. The captain's seat is pivotally mounted so that it can be turned towards the saloon.

The Amel's philosophy is not to hold many people on board, but to offer great comfort to the owners and their guests.

In the front there are two large cabins with double beds and private bathrooms. The colours, materials and design are very elegant.

Despite the modernization, Amel keeps its fundamentals, such as the front and rear watertight doors that are added to the other watertight compartments. Due to the need for nautical culture, anti-roll cloths are standard as on all boats made for the sea.

Beautiful materials and easy maintenance

The long kitchen is in the corridor, it gives off the feeling of a boat like at home.

There is no shortage of kitchen equipment. There is a 12-cover dishwasher, induction hob, microwave oven, ice maker and essential wine cellar (Grand Cru), as well as a double refrigerator and freezer.

Note the presence of a single ventilation window, but a suction hood.

The Amel 60, a place to live

Although owners will certainly not spend all their time sailing, they will choose the Amel 60 for the quality of life in the long term.

When you arrive in the owner's cabin, you will notice a large electric blind that hides the large windows in order to preserve the privacy of this cabin.

The bed is arranged in an island, as on many units of this type it seems to sit in the cabin. But unlike many units of this type, when approaching, the trained eye notices anchorages for the anti-roll canvas, this detail does not mislead on the offshore aspirations of this sailboat.

In this owner's cabin, one is seduced by the care taken in the choice of materials and design. Around the bed are divided up, a dressing table, wardrobes and large storage spaces.

But where we rediscover that we are on a boat that inherits a nautical culture, it is by lifting the bed. Indeed, we notice a porthole at the bottom of the hull giving visual access to the propeller.

The bed lifts up and allows the propeller to be controlled via a window at the bottom of the hull
