Web series / Driven by the Wind: the Los Roques archipelago, one of the most beautiful sliding spots in the world

In this vlog 51, Sarah ends her second trimester pregnancy on the Venezuelan archipelago of Los Roques. If the couple hesitated for a long time before coming to stay, the island is a real paradise, and one of the most beautiful sliding spots in the world.

Sarah, Aurélien and their little Nael dropped anchor at Los Roques. This Venezuelan archipelago located about 160 kilometers north of the capital Caracas, in the Caribbean Sea is a protected area consisting of more than 300 islands and sandbanks surrounding a 400 km² lagoon. And if the couple hesitated to stop there, given the complicated political situation at the time, they did not regret their choice.

The spot is splendid and it feels like a little corner of paradise: white sandy beaches, lagoons, transparent water... The place is ideal for windsurfing or kitesurf?! An activity that Sarah still does, despite being 6 months pregnant. It is one of the most beautiful places in the world to practice sliding sports.

The little family takes the opportunity to discover the surroundings, get to know other boaters, but also with the local fishermen. Fishing, preparing the pregnancy suitcase, strolling on the beach with Nael or paddle or swimming punctuate their stopover.

For 15 days, they sailed daily, discovering splendid anchorages - including the crescent-shaped crescent moon of Cayo de Agua. We are now heading for the Las Aves archipelago, a federal dependency of Venezuela.
