The DNA from the SR52 Blackbird
Ten years after the launch of its iconic model, the SR52 Blackbird, the Norwegian manufacturer Windy presented in autumn 2019 the Windy SR44 Blackhawk . It incorporates the main characteristics of the boat, namely the vertical bow, the long hull windows and the hard-top protecting the cockpit. We find on board the quality of construction and finishing that we know of Windy.
Tender, chaseboat or dayboat
Designed as a superyacht tender or chaseboat, this large 13.33 m long dayboat will also be the perfect sportboat for speed fans. With two Volvo inboard engines 2 x IPS 600 or 2 x D6-400 Duo Prop with Joystick or up to 3 x 400 HP outboard, the announced top speed is 45 knots.
With all due respect to the less adventurous, the deck layout of the SR 44 is perfectly suited for sailing with family or friends. Thus, there are two large sunbathing areas at the front and at the back, facing the sea. A U-shaped saloon with an extensible table allows for a large number of dinners and a kitchen with refrigerator, sink and storage is installed at the rear of the cockpit.
It is off-centre to starboard with three comfortable bucket seats, protected on the front and sides by a large windscreen with side lapels and on top by a hard-top. The onboard console is spacious and can accommodate two 17-inch displays.
On the front, the sunbathing will be more suitable for one person. On the same beach in front, on the bow, on either side of the anchor locker, there are two seats with their backs to the step.
Easy to access
The port side passage along the entire length of the deck makes it easy to move around on board. To starboard, it is easy to walk around from the cockpit to the forward deck. There are many handrails on board, including those installed inside the bulwarks all around the bridge.
The large swimming beach is ideal for swimming and water sports. Under the rear sunbathing area, there is a very large storage box that can accommodate nautical toys.
Comfort on board
Under the bridge, the decoration is refined with neutral colours. In the front there is a beautiful double cabin with several openings to the outside and to the rear, a mid-cabin with two single beds. In the centre, a galley on the port side and a bathroom with separate shower make it possible to plan several nights on board. Because if the SR 44 Blackhawk is thought of as an open boat, it nevertheless has all the comfort of a star.
Thanks to numerous customization options, each boat can be personified according to the tastes and needs of its owner: color of upholstery, hull painting, barbecue, hydraulic platform...
