To know the state of your battery fleet and to be able to follow it accurately to ensure the comfort and safety of the vehicle, there is nothing more effective than a battery manager (also called a Battery monitor). Cristec, a specialist in battery park charging systems, already has a manager in its catalogue. But this one is over the years and seems obsolete with its two-coloured screen with large pixels. It was time to offer a product that was more in tune with the times.
By 2020, the BAT-MON-3.5 manager is equipped with a 3.5" colour touch screen. The data is displayed in the form of highly readable round gauges. The program is able to display 3 gauges simultaneously.
This device delivered with a shunt, can receive 2 other shunts in option and thus monitor 3 different sources. For example, we can look at the charge of a solar panel while monitoring the consumers on board.
This product records the history of the battery's behaviour. Thus it measures and records the high and low battery voltages and alarms when thresholds (configurable thresholds) are exceeded. This monitor can trigger a visual or audible alarm, but also has a dry contact (which can then trigger a generator if the battery capacity is low). Programming is directly accessible on the screen in a very simple way, in particular with a step-by-step procedure to follow during the first start-up.
To facilitate the management of its battery fleet, the BAT-MON-3.5 records the number of cycles as well as the average voltages over the cycles. Ultimately, all this data will be stored on an SD card and can be used on a computer.
The mounting of this box is recessed. In use, the device consumes little with a screen sleep system and even an on/off switch if you want to turn it off completely. On sale since summer 2019, the BAT-MON-3.5 is available at 384 euros including VAT (and 140 euros per additional shunt).
