DutchCraft25, the electric tender with a modular deck plan

The DutchCraft25

After the DC56, an ultra-versatile cruise ship with a adventurous look, the Dutch manufacturer DutchCraft is launching an 8 m electric tender with a modular deck plan. This is the DC25.

The DC56, an innovative model

Dutch builder DutchCraft hit the boating market in September 2019 with the launch of the DC56 . This innovative 56-foot (17 m) concept was noted for its extreme versatility, a niche in which the Dutch company wishes to enter.

A versatile 8 m tender

Its second model, the DC25, is an 8-meter electric tender built in carbon fiber. Once again, the shipyard plays the game of versatility since its deck plan is entirely modular. DutchCraft assures that it will be easy and fast to choose between a diving boat, a fishing boat, a support boat or a cruising boat.

In keeping with the DutchCraft spirit of providing practical, flexible boats with quality design for owners to enjoy, the DC25 shares many similarities with its big brother, the DC56. With its rugged look and unusual layout, the DC56 has been the subject of much debate. In fact, it was nominated for the "European Motorboat of the Year 2020".

A robust and safe boat

The large bulwarks provide a sense of security and protection, and the transom cleverly converts to a swim platform. Its deep V hull is sturdy and allows you to cut through the waves while remaining comfortable.

"With a mission to provide owners with the flexibility and enjoyment they expect from life on the water, with a rugged and practical design, the DC25 is a natural addition to our lineup. There's nothing else in this size category with such potential for use."

A modular deck plan

The idea of the project was to offer an ultra-versatile tender to meet all the requirements of an owner who wants to spend the most time on the water. Thanks to a compact electric propulsion system, the builder can use a large deck volume.

Behind the center console, furniture and equipment can be quickly moved thanks to the two deck rails: benches, diving racks, etc. When the deck is free of furniture, it offers enough space to carry a land vehicle or two jet skis.

This model of only 8 m allows to transport many toys and accessories in a boat of less than 10 m. Ideal for a day on land with all the necessary equipment, it can be transformed into a shuttle for 12 passengers with the help of bench seats. For scuba diving fans, the DC25 can accommodate up to 8 pieces of diving equipment, back-to-back seating and enough storage space for two seabobs. The optional 42L tank should provide enough water for showers and equipment cleaning.

A limousine version is currently under development. It will serve as a luxury shuttle offering increased protection against the elements.

Designed to make life easier

To facilitate embarkation and disembarkation, DutchCraft thought of inserting a removable door in the bow. With a shallow draft and a compact sterndrive engine, the DC25 can get as close to the beach as possible.

In order to be easily stored in a tender garage, the rigid T-top folds forward to lower the air draft. In this position, it can also be used to protect the foredeck when sailing. In the standard position, the air draft is 3.3 m and drops to 1.97 m in the folded position.

Electric, but powerful

The electric propulsion allows for silent sailing, but still offers incredible performance. The DC25 is capable of sailing for 75 minutes at a maximum speed of 32 knots. At a reduced speed of 6 knots, its autonomy increases to 6 hours.

"At DutchCraft, we believe that electric propulsion is the key to an ocean-conscious future," says Koopmans. "We are committed to investing in this direction and the technology we have developed for the DC25 is proof of that."

The boat will have its world premiere in Düsseldorf in January 2020 and is priced at 275,000 euros (excl. VAT).
