To prepare for her delivery and live her last trimester of pregnancy with peace of mind, Sarah has chosen to make an extended stopover in Bonaire. This small island of 288 km2 is part of the group of Leeward Islands, located almost 90 km from Venezuela. Flying the Dutch flag, it is famous for its scuba diving spots.
In this video, Sarah, Aurélien and Nael share their daily lives with us. Windsurfing, swimming, discovering the many colourful fish, diving lessons or swimming from the transom of the boat for Nael.
In addition to its magnificent and fishy bottoms, Bonaire is known for its pink flamingos and wild donkeys. The island was also a major centre of sea salt production from the 18th to the 19th century, exploiting slaves in the salt works. Today, there are still small stone houses that bear witness to slavery
Finally, good surprise for Aurélien, who will be able to participate in the Defi Wind Caribbean, a huge windsurfing competition. In France, the Wind Challenge organized in Gruissan is the most gathering of windsurfers in the world
