Dream destinations for winter cruises

What if you took advantage of the Christmas vacations to leave or plan your next winter cruise? Here are a few destinations where it's good to sail all year round and especially in winter, when the December chill hits our lands.

The Canaries

Temperature of 20°C in winter, an archipelago of 7 islands that are worth a visit, a constant wind all year round The Canaries are ideally located on the trade winds route and offer varied landscapes and numerous infrastructures to enjoy a beautiful cruise in the Atlantic.

Cape Verde

The archipelago of Cape Verde is composed of 10 islands and several islets at about 400 miles from the Senegalese coast. If the majority of its islands are volcanic and arid, like Maio, Boa Vista or Sal, in the north, Santo Antão stands out with its green mountains. Beware of the strong currents that sometimes make swimming difficult.

Thailand and its islands

Thailand is an ideal sailing destination all year round and especially in winter, during the northeast monsoon (dry season from November to April) with an air temperature of more than 30°C and a water temperature of 28°C. You will be able to make dream stopovers in Koh Phanak, in the bay of Phang Nga or in Koh Pu.

Enjoy the extraordinary landscapes and the splendid sea beds.

The Seychelles

It is possible to sail in the Seychelles all year round with temperatures around 30°C. From November onwards, the north-west trade winds can bring rain, especially in January. But the weather changes quickly and the rain never lasts long. With its 43 islands, it is easy to sail in a coral garden, where you will appreciate the numerous marine parks.

British Virgin Islands

The british Virgin Islands or BVI (British Virgin Islands) are a paradise for sailors. With islands close to each other, with numerous anchorages with translucent waters, and with fishy seabeds, this destination is undoubtedly the most accessible for sailing. About sixty islands make up the BVI, the main one being Tortola.

The Virgin Islands are under the trade winds, which means a steady wind, but not too strong. Always coming from the East, it does not raise the sea, the water being protected by the archipelago of islands.

The Grenadines

The Grenadines are an archipelago in the south of the West Indies, composed of more than 30 islands, a real paradise for sailing. Turquoise seas, northeast or southeast winds of 10 to 25 knots are the conditions offered by the Grenadines.

If you are sailing in the Grenadines, tobago Cayes are an essential part of a Caribbean cruise. This protected reserve of five uninhabited islands is a true paradise on earth with multicolored fish, warm transparent waters and white sandy beaches. Swim with the many turtles that call this place home, enjoy barbecued lobsters and admire the most beautiful coral reef in the Caribbean.
