Test / NBC 66, the great contemporary comfort

Before we take a few turns to try out the marine qualities of NBC 66, we take a delightful tour of the facilities. Designed for a crew and six to eight guests, the distribution of space is a testament to a long development process

Spacious and intimate volumes

The same layout of two independent neighborhoods that prevailed in the initial design of the 76 is repeated. Interior designers Jean Marc Piaton and Rafaà "l Bonnet have given careful consideration to privacy. The guest area, with an owner's cabin and two double cabins, is concentrated at the front of the saloon. The queen size bed in the master cabin is offset so that it is hidden when the door is open. One of the two cabins in the gangway will ideally accommodate children and the other can be transformed into a double bed or two separate depending on the situation. At the back of the saloon, a double cabin can be used by friends during summer sailing. Since it overlooks the galley, a crew could also occupy it. In the Grande Plaisance configuration, this organization allows for long distance cruising in complete peace of mind, with each person having their own private space.

Between these two distinct areas is the perfect place for socializing, in the form of a panoramic lounge-dining room. Depending on the time of day, this space can be transformed into a dining room, a nap room, a cocktail room or even a television projection room. The sofa becomes a meridian sofa with the addition of mini benches that also serve as a table for eight guests to dine in comfort.

A pleasant communicability

The chart table is an integral part of this space and is large enough to make it a meeting place between the saloon and the kitchen, located slightly below. This kitchen is calibrated to operate a seamless catering service on long sailings. Cold compartment, oven and stove, dishwasher, everything is oversized so that you will never be caught unprepared even with demanding friends or guests.

A very contemporary atmosphere

The light walnut woodwork, with an open pore finish, brings luminosity and a cosy atmosphere at the same time. They can be tinted in several shades and can be decorated with different atmospheres, to be determined according to a range pre-established by the yard. The choice is wide enough to create a very personal interior. The deck plan also deserves high praise for its ergonomics. The U-shaped bench seat and the table on the port side do not hinder the circulation between the interior and the maneuvering station at the rear. Also adjustable, they can be transformed into a large sunbathing area, the idleness between two navigations has been taken seriously.
