Lived, one week on board the Belém

Splendid images in this video that makes us discover life on the Belém through the experience of Manon who embarks for a week on the sail training boat. Participating in the manoeuvres and life on board, Manon takes us along with her supported by a very beautiful realization.

Manon will embark on the Belém in the summer of 2019 for a week's sailing. A week where she will discover the sea and the freedom it offers. She will be a crew member on this three-mast barque for a navigation between Denmark and Sweden.

The Belém is a training ship on which the trainees are useful to the sailing ship. They are not mere passengers, but active crew members. They participate in the services and manoeuvres, but also in the financing of the yacht. So the internship becomes sporting. You have to tuck in the sails, pull on the halyards, and even climb the masts.

Manon also discovers life at sea with the watch system during which you keep watch, but also take the helm. Luckily she does not get seasick and can take a real pleasure from these navigations under the high latitudes in summer with very short nights.

But life on a sailboat is also about maintenance, deck brushing, brass and window cleaning. All this participation in life on a boat that forms a good understanding between crew members and trainees.

This film captures the atmosphere on board with an astonishing image quality supported by a few shots taken with a drone and a serene voice-over narration. Without being too commercial, it makes you want to take part in this crew and embark on board the Belém. This is in fact possible as the yacht will be back at sea from April 2020 for a trip along the French and Spanish coasts. If you feel like it, join the crew (count 200 euros/day).
