Two accesses for the Flybridge
We can speak here of interior fittings, but also of exterior fittings, because the relaxation on the deck has been taken care of on all floors. The forward descent of the fly allows, during the manoeuvring phase, the pilot to descend directly to the foredeck to turn a mooring line on the cleat or to prepare the mooring. With the two accesses on the fly, moving around on board is easy, everywhere you can move around freely, even with a large crew. The walkways are very safe. They are wide and protected by a stainless steel rail and handrails. Same for the access to the skirts secured by a gate. The U-shaped cockpit bench seat is very cosy for meals, as is the flybridge bench seat, which is also equipped with a small kitchen
A suite for the owner
Due to the outside forward companionway, the door opening forward from the interior saloon is not present here, but is replaced by a clearance giving access to the owner's cabin or, optionally, to two double forward cabins. This differentiates it from its direct competitors who have a companionway in each hull distributing two cabins each. On l'Aquila 44 each cabin has its own separate access and each has its own private bathroom, which provides more privacy. The forward master cabin with 1.93 m headroom in front of the bed is very spacious. On one side it has a bathroom in a hull and on the other side an office and dressing room.
The beds in the two aft cabins are quite high and allow a good view out through the large porthole when lying down. If the port one is a little wider than the starboard one, both have nice bathrooms. The mattresses, made of memory foam, are comfortable. The showers are separated by a glass partition and have a grating seat which is very pleasant to wash in the sea.
A cross traffic plan
The main deck is divided into four modules divided by a cross aisle that leads to the cabins and aft cockpit. At the entrance the galley, in two parts, is equipped with an opening glass partition that allows to modulate a bar overlooking the cockpit. It's very user-friendly for the cook who stays in contact with others whether they are inside or outside. At the bow, on one side a U-shaped bench and a table (alas too small for a full crew...), and on the other, a chest of drawers with a retractable TV screen. As an option, this chest of drawers can be replaced by an interior wheelhouse, which will be indispensable for long voyages.
