The Italian manufacturer Sacs is revamping the Strider 15, whose design has been totally redesigned by the designer Christian Grande. This sporty looking 15m dayboat offers all the comfort for a pleasant day at sea.

A totally redesigned iconic model

The Strider 15 was the forerunner of a range that today includes models from 7 to 20 m. In 2020, Sacs decided to relaunch its iconic model (no longer in the catalogue) by calling on Italian designer Christian Grande for the design. Everything's been redesigned, starting with the hull. The straight bow is more accentuated than on previous models and gives the boat a much sportier look. This lengthens the waterline and improves performance.

Several motorization options

"It's a brand-new boat, a totally redesigned version. It is narrower at the front and very wide at the rear, which improves performance. The old Strider 15 with a 440 horsepower Volvo sterndrive exceeded 40 knots. It's estimated to reach nearly 44 knots on this new model." explains Andrea Loro, Bags Sales Manager. The Strider 15 will also be offered with outboard power and even with surface propellers (715 HP).

The motors are hidden under the aft sundeck, which is electrically opened

A sportier look

The overall design is also more modern, with more aggressive lines and an eye-catching look. The floats are tapered forward to provide a better side view. On the stern, to maintain the stability provided by the RIBs, the floats remain submerged.

Comfort, convenience and quality

The cockpit of this 14.97 m long maxi-RIB has also been redesigned. At the stern, the layout remains the same with a very large bathing platform (can be hydraulically operated) and a huge sunbathing area (which can be divided into two sunbathing areas with a central passage).

Long storage is concealed in the back of the engine compartment

In the cockpit, there is also this large, very comfortable U-shaped bench seat with high backrests that provide a real sense of security. As with the other equipment, you can choose between one large single table or two small folding tables. Remember that the Strider 15 offers a lot of customization, both in terms of deck layout, hull colour, upholstery and materials.

Behind the helm station there is now a huge kitchen with fridge, freezer, sink or grill. Handrails allow you to hold on to the boat while navigating.

Automotive Inspiration

The cockpit has been completely reworked and has a much more modern and sports car-like look. There are two beautiful and very comfortable double benches, each with its own seat. They allow you to fly either standing or sitting. The cockpit is sumptuous and very spacious and can accommodate several screens (navigation, control camera...). A windshield encircles the cockpit and protects the pilot and passengers from the sea spray.

The hard-top is also the result of a new, sportier design, made with a mix of fibreglass and carbon. At the front, the rounded console has side LED inserts that are reminiscent of a car's headlights. The foredeck receives a complete fixed sunbathing area, but a walk-around version will soon be available.

A spacious cabin

Sold mainly for use as a superyacht chaseboat or tender for a seaside villa - and therefore for day sailing - the Strider 15 has no less luxurious interior fittings. In the cabin, there is a nice double berth at the front with a very nice headroom. A bench seat and a bathroom with shower complete the layout. At the rear, a mid-cabin - which is not easily accessible - will be used instead for sleeping children or for storing things. Once again the layout is custom.

A comfortable dayboat

"The idea of the Strider 15 is to offer a large, very stable semi-rigid for the day, with several sunbeds, refrigerators, music and a sporty look that catches the eye. It's an entry-level product for maxi-RIB" enthusiasts details Andrea Loro.

Approved in category B, the Strider 15 can accommodate up to 16 people on board. Although the fibreglass hull is not manufactured in the Milan shipyard, the entire construction takes place on site in Milan, Italy. "We produce about 1 boat a month. It's mass production custom boats." concludes the sales manager.

We also note the beautiful quality of construction and finish of the boat. The materials used are beautifully made, the upholstery comfortable, the fabrics pleasant.
