To sing at the top of your lungs when you take the helm of your boat..

Boater and musician Jean Langlois has just published a collection of sea songs. 26 modern and traditional songs are gathered in this book: lyrics, scores and even a description of the song and its author.

It is a musical cruise that Jean Langlois offers us through his book Chansons Phares de Mer et de Marins. For his pleasure and to share it with us, he gives us some songs inspired by the sea. We immediately think we'll find all the songs that punctuated the maneuvering of the tall ships. But the author was not satisfied with that, he also gives us here some contemporary songs that have also strongly marked our minds.

Chansons Phares

This book is intended as a songbook to have on board, when at anchor or in fine weather at sea, you start singing on board. Each song has its own score which Jean Langlois has even completed with a score for guitar. In addition to the lyrics there is a presentation of the singer-songwriter with the story of the song's creation.

Jacques Brel, Renaud, Brassens and Aznavour (among others) are the ones who tell us a few secrets about their melodies. The manoeuvre songs are also explained.

Chansons Phares

This beautifully illustrated book, printed on a nice thick glossy paper and with a hard cover is to be stored in the beautiful book category. It will be a perfect gift for all boaters who want to decorate the onboard library.

For the occasion, Jean Langlois created his publishing house Belle Aventure (named after the sailboat with which he travels the Mediterranean) through which he publishes and markets his book. Afterwards, this publishing house will continue his editorial project focused on maritime culture, traditions and history. In this way, other works on poetry, literature, painting and human adventure, always around the sea, should see the light of day.
