Test / Navigation and program of the Adventura 10 Power CS, an undeniable ease of use

We tried the Aventura 10 Power CS off the coast of La Grande-Motte. We were seduced by her very good sea passage and her navigational capabilities which place her in the range of true ocean-going cruisers

If the family resemblance with the sailboat is obvious, the hulls are completely different and have been specifically designed to accommodate a Yanmar inboard motorization ranging from 2 x 110 hp to 2 x 250 hp. But also outboards from 2 x 150 hp to 2 x 300 hp. In the latter case, access to the sea is less obvious, as the engines are fixed to the skirts.

Our model is equipped with the 195 hp Yanmar, which seems to us the best engine. No transom clutter and a very efficient speed/autonomy ratio. By cruising at 12 knots, it is possible to cover more than 300 miles and it will still be possible to cover more than 200 miles at 20 knots. We climb on the flyer to take the controls. A well-born hull

From the very first runs, the narrow water inlets and rounded bridles provide a very smooth and safe passage that allows you to reach the maximum speed of 19 knots without apprehension. The stepped hulls optimise the deflection of the spray that does not reach the forward cockpit, so a couple of customers settled in and remained without apprehension during our evolutions. The steering is a little firm and needs adjustment, but it doesn't detract from the positive picture. Sailing on the high seas in rough seas is possible in good conditions of comfort.

As the engine compartments are located aft, the noise level in the boat is very acceptable. The V-drives pass the power to the propellers in such a way as to have the smallest possible angle, which is a guarantee of efficiency. However, we notice a tendency to pitch up and there is no doubt that the addition of flaps would straighten the pitch, which again improves fuel economy. The panoramic view from the saloon, on the other hand, allows you to go about your business while keeping a watchful eye on the boat at low speed.

Moderate consumption

Fuel consumption is not excessive and the difference between the 195hp and 110hp engines is almost non-existent, even in favour of the 195hp. At 12 knots, which seems a good compromise for cruising, fuel consumption is only 42 litres compared to 44 litres for the 110 hp engines.
