Based on a concrete case, we have decided that our next cruise will be offshore. We will be connecting Brest to Horta in the Azores. A 1,200-mile trip that should take about 10 days. And to put ourselves in a real-life situation, we're all going to start by collectively choosing the ideal yacht for this journey.
Guided by Katell des Tutos de la Croisière, we will go through all the issues involved in choosing your yacht: programme, budget, model, equipment... All the items will be analysed in order to define their priority and prioritise the choices. At the end of this training, which lasts about 1 hour, you will have all the cards in hand to help you choose your yacht.
This operation, which takes place on Sunday 5th April from 6 pm, will allow us to choose a sailboat, the one with which we will cast off in the direction of the Azores. In order for this choice to be collegial, we will ask you at the end to fill in a questionnaire with your different answers to the criteria set out in the training. The analysis of this questionnaire will allow us to choose the size and model of the boat.
Other training sessions will then follow to equip this boat for a 10-day crossing (safety, electronics, bunkering...) and during a third training session, we will tackle the weather issue to validate the departure date.
