Web series / Lost in the Swell, on the way to Magic Bay

In this 2nd episode of Lost in the Swell, Pattaluvia, it's time to cast off to Southern Patagonia. First stage, two days of sailing towards Magic Bay, a spot that should offer some good waves.

The bunkering and preparation of the boat for 3 weeks of autonomous navigation in the canals of Patagonia at five are now completed. Ronan, the video maker of the adventure has now joined the boat and the adventure can now begin. This first two-day stage of sailing towards the south of Patagonia should take them to Magic Bay, a bay which can potentially offer them 4 or 5 good waves.

After having sailed half of the time in the canals, the boat finds the sea and the swell again. An autopilot failure forced them to steer, a godsend for Ronan, who, as mediaman on Actual Leader in the Brest Atlantiques, was forbidden to take part in the navigation. For the anecdote, we can see Ewen wearing Mike Horn's watch jacket. You should know that on board, Erwan (the boat's skipper) has a lot of old foulies from various skippers and every day it was a battle to get the least damaged foulies.

The weather files do not announce good news: 40 knots of wind and 6 m swell. We must therefore find shelter quickly. The north-westerly wind is very strong, but the geography of the canals forces them not to go too far in, at the risk of not being able to get out again. It's finally in Magic Bay, after taking a lot of precautions to navigate in this shallow zone, that the five adventurers will take shelter, allowing Ewen and Aurélien to surf in the middle of dolphins, seals, otters and above all, lots of seaweed
