Finding the ideal spot for the protagonists of the Lost in the Swell web series is proving more complicated than expected. Embarked on Maewan, the 10-metre steel dinghy that has been welcoming them on their journey for several days, they are sailing in search of a dream spot, nestled at the foot of one of the largest glaciers in southern Patagonia. And on their way, there are few opportunities to practice their favorite activity.
First because of the numerous storms during the summer. 30 knots of wind, gusting to 40 knots, the five sailors are forced to find a spot to take shelter in the heart of the peninsula, sheltered in the winding channels. Then, because it's difficult to see the waves of a spot from the boat, so they have to get in the water, row to the spot, only to discover that it's not so great after all. In fact, of the three boards that the two surfers brought along, only one was used..
So aboard Maewan, we're keeping busy as best we can. We're fishing quite a lot - we're resting a lot for Erwan, the skipper, who's exhausted from a staphylococcus aureus and we're continuing to have a lot of fun. Aurel surfs a bit filmed by Ronan Gladu, the trio's cameraman in a drone from the boat. If the latter has managed to preserve these flying cameras as a medium on Actual during the Brest Atlantiques, they will not survive this trip to the Deep South.
