An Italian design
Pyxis Yachts is a new motorboat brand, created by Lucio Apollonj Ghetti, a Swiss sailing enthusiast and his son, who studied at the INB. Their first model - the P-30 WA - is a 30-foot walk-around motor yacht designed by Italian designers Alessandro Chessa and Carlo Galeazzi, who fit out the Chris Craft brand's boats for the interior.
Versatile use
The idea developed in the specifications is the construction of a multi-purpose boat for small family weekend cruises or fishing trips. Thus, on board, there is a double cabin at the bow and a mid-cabin at the stern (which will be more suitable for children), a separate shower room, an outdoor kitchen in the cockpit (with stove, fridge and sink), a large saloon at the rear of the deck to accommodate up to 8 people and a generous sunbathing area on the 1.80 m long foredeck.
The central cockpit accommodates up to two people and can be protected by a T-Top (optional) on which up to 8 rod holders can be installed. The console is large and capable of receiving all the necessary equipment, from the 12-inch GPS/plotter to the compass, depth sounder, VHF, joystick... The boat is however delivered without electronics to leave the choice to the buyer. Two bathing platforms frame the two engines and facilitate entry on board or swimming.
Construction in Tunisia
The P-30 WA is built in Tunisia - in a dedicated factory - with a vinylester contact lamination process. "It's a solid, very reassuring boat, capable of sailing in highly formed seas with a top speed of 50 n?uds?" explains the founder of the yard Lucio Apollonj Ghetti.
The boat has a progressive deep-V hull with 4 strakes to improve lift, an almost vertical bow and a transom inclined at 23°. The deck line is high with a high freeboard to provide safe navigation and movement anywhere on the boat.
Evinrude Motorization
Thanks to a partnership with Evinrude, the boat gets two E-TEC G2 outboard motors of 2X200 hp or 2X300 hp but the founder recommends 500 hp. In its basic configuration, with 2X200 HP, the P-30 WA reaches speeds of 40 knots and up to 50 knots with 600 HP.
Catalogue options
Several colour and upholstery options will be offered by the yard. As standard, she is delivered with a seadeck and a 100-litre livewell for fishing enthusiasts. The shipyard is in talks with the Cannes boat show for its French presentation and the boat will be unveiled in Genoa, as a show boat for Evinrude. The basic price is 115?000 euros HT excluding transport costs and without engine. With options, it will be 135?000 euros HT.
