The Sonihull protects boat hulls by emitting ultrasound. It is not an antifouling that kills bacteria, with the resonance of the ultrasounds, it prevents the hull from being colonized by bacteria.
The fouling process is known: bacteria settle on the hull, these batteries serve as food for plankton, which is then eaten by algae which are themselves devoured by the shells. If you break this chain at its origin, if the bacteria cannot settle, no other living thing will come on the hull.
Sonihull probes bonded to the boat's hull emit varying ultrasonic frequencies. They cause the hull to resonate. A bit like a drop of water on a drumhead, microscopic bubbles are created under the hull, disturbing the colonizing animals.
We understand that this system only works if it's on the road 24 hours a day. As soon as you stop it, the colonizer chain is created and the fouling appears. Once it's in place, it won't be the ultrasonic waves that will take it off.
This means that Sonihull must always be on, so you must have a continuous power source. Sonihull consumes 3.6 W per hour and per probe (i.e. 0.3 A at 12 V). This is why this product is perfectly adapted for boats equipped with solar panels or of a certain size to keep a generator running.
Note that the probes emit on 13 different frequencies to cover the entire spectrum and "disturb" all animals. In some very rare cases, these frequencies can disturb certain sounders. In this case, it is possible to set the Sonihull to change its frequency.
Sonihull fits on all hull materials except wood. The probes stick to the inside of the hull without having to drill holes. The number of probes is adapted to the size of the boat to distribute them throughout the hull and protect it.
Sonihull is sold as a pack: 1 probe for boats under 10m (Sonihull Mono - 2000 euros), 2 probes for boats up to 16m (Sonihull Duo - 2800 euros) or 8 probes for larger installations (Sonihull 8 - 9500 euros).
If Sonihull works on boat hulls, it is also recommended to protect cooling systems that use sea water. By placing probes on the water pipes have prevented the proliferation of bacteria.
