The SNSM Record for the Multi 50 Solidaires En Peloton - ARSEP

The Multi 50 Solidaires En Peloton - ARSEP, skippered by Thibault Vauchel-Camus has just set a new reference time on the SNSM Record.

Setting off from Saint-Malo on the morning of 19th June to reach Saint-Nazaire, the crew of 4 sailors, from the Multi50 Solidaires En Peloton - ARSEP, led by Thibaut Vauchel-Camus, set off for the SNSM Record on the same day in the late afternoon. In the viseur?? Beat Yvan Bourgnon's record by 13 hours and 26 minutes over the 280 mile course between Saint-Nazaire and Saint-Malo.

The Multi 50 finally took 14 hours and 19 minutes to complete the course and failed by 52 minutes to snatch the title from Yvan Bourgnon, winner in all categories. He nevertheless became the Multi 50 title holder.

" We were 30 minutes ahead at the Ile de Sein. Alas, the wind was a bit capricious afterwards." explains Thibaut when he arrives in the early morning. "We spiked at 37.7 knots at night. There's a bit of frustration that we didn't manage to beat the overall Record but we're delighted to have beaten the Record in the Multi 50 and to have reopened this great challenge for the benefit of the sea rescuers. There is still time to make donations for the SNSM. This attempt has given us a chance to get back into high-speed competition with our friends."
