Swan 98, a 30-foot sailboat for luxury ocean cruising

The new Swan 98 is a yacht designed for blue water cruising and complements the Maxi Swan range from the Finnish manufacturer Nautor's Swan. With contemporary and elegant lines and an interior that comes in two versions, there is something for every owner.

Finally the launch of the Swan 98

Announced in May 2018, the new Swan 98 has finally hit the water. It was due to make its debut at the Monaco Yacht Show 2020, but the yacht show will not take place this year. This second model in the Maxi Swan range was built at the Nautor's Swan shipyard in Pietarsaari, Finland. The hull and deck are constructed from epoxy prepreg carbon fibre inner and outer skin with a Corecell foam core.

Autonomy and comfort for the long cruise

This elegant 30 m long sailing yacht was designed by the architect German Frers. The waterline length has been maximized and the lines glide smoothly aft, offering a flush deck and lowered roof and a wide transom. The rear of the cockpit is reserved for manoeuvring with two steering wheels and manoeuvring back to the helm station. The transom deploys hydraulically to create a real swimming platform and reveals a garage for a 4 m tender.

A large deck for relaxing and manoeuvring

The foredeck offers a perfect sunbathing area at anchor and enough space to handle the sails while cruising. Aft of the roof is a saloon where you can enjoy sailing or a meal protected by a hood or bimini. At the stern, a second companionway provides easy access below deck, depending on the interior layout chosen. The mooring is hydraulically deployed, and the sails will find their place in a spacious forward hold.

This cruise boat is designed for long, comfortable crossings in a luxurious environment. To offer maximum autonomy, the Swan 98 has large water and fuel tanks. The engine room is located under the raised saloon and provides access to the 279 HP Ster main engine and generator.

Two interior versions and four decoration styles

The interior has been developed by the Genoese architect Misa Poggi and is available in two versions of layouts: aft owner's cabin or forward owner's cabin with 3 guest cabins (one double and two with twin beds) with their own bathroom. As far as decoration is concerned, the owner can choose between four different styles. To guarantee the crew's privacy, in both configurations, the galley is close to the crew quarters.

In the centre of the boat, flooded with natural light thanks to the opening deck portholes, is a lounge area on the port side and a dining area on the starboard side. Finally, there is plenty of storage space for long cruises.

There is a long list of options for configuring your boat, starting with a telescopic keel with double rudder, which allows you to go from a draft of 4.9m to 3.2m. For racers, there is a race package that includes a horn mainsail with backstays.
