Web series / False Solo for Hugo as training for the Mini-Transat 2021

Since 1st July 2020, Hugo is the new skipper of the Mini 6.50 1014, which he will charter until the end of the Mini-Transat 2021. His goal being to improve his skills and become a better sailor, he is training for the "false solo".

To take part in the Mini Transat 2021, Hugo (known as The Sailing Frenchman) has chosen the 1014, a Maxi 6.50, a round-bottomed sailboat. A choice he explained in his previous video.

On 1st July 2020, the young sailor officially got his boat back, which he will charter until the end of the Mini Transat, which will start in October 2021. And before the start, his goal is to become competitive and a better sailor.

It is therefore with the boat's owner - Vincent, taking part in the Mini Transat 2019 as a prototype - that he trains. And for that nothing better than the "fake solo". That means that there are two of us on board but we sail as if we were sailing alone, that is to say we manage all the navigation alone. This session allows him to get some precious advice from Vincent but also to practice his first drone images.

Hugo also takes the opportunity to make us discover the famous "Mini spirit" that qualifies this great family that is the Mini class. Solidarity and good understanding are the order of the day in the Mini 6.50. The proof is that Vincent had initially bought his boat to have fun with, before finally deciding to help future Mini racers to make their dream come true by renting it to them.

After a return to La Turballe to bring Vincent back, Hugo is embarking on his first solo sail, aboard his Mini 6.50.
