IDBmarine had released the Malango 888 a cruiser designed by Pierre ROLLAND, whose performances have been acclaimed.

The hull of this Malango 888, directly derived from the competition, stands out with its two evolutionary chines which combine increased stability of shape and increased power compared to a classic hull.

Associated with a lifting keel that increases from 1.00 to 2.30 m draft and an optimised weight estimate thanks to a controlled infusion construction, this hull offers performance both in the field and downwind far superior to the usual production in this size.

The Mojito 888 takes up this hull by completing it with a panoramic, raised roof that offers an unequalled view from the inside! It is also the key to a spacious, bright interior and in terms of safety, it allows continuous monitoring of the road even from inside.

Like her predecessors, the Mojito 888 uses the same codes as her predecessors for easy navigation, including single-handed sailing: the self-tacking jib track, a mainsheet bar that is thrown aft, automatic reefing, and generously dimensioned deck fittings. From an innovative point of view, the sheeting of the jib that comes back from each side allows the helmsman to easily adjust the self-tacking jib.

The Mojito 888 also offers clever solutions for beaching, dinghy and swimming.

Thanks to its pivoting keel and two integrated landing gears that can be operated from the cockpit, the Mojito 888 can ground very easily. These legs, already integrated in the hull and very easy to use, are a big plus.

The Mojito 888's integrated garage at the rear makes it easy to manage the inflated dinghy: simply pull one end out to take the dinghy out and pull the other end in to take it in. This is an advantage that only IDBmarine offers in this size of yacht!

Finally, a tilting stern platform not only makes the cockpit safer while sailing, but also provides an ideal aft deck for swimming.

All these qualities integrated in the same boat were recognised during the presentation of this Mojito 888 at the Grand Pavois de La Rochelle 2014: following the tests organised by Voile Magazine for the election of the sailboat of the year 2015, the jury and the readers of the magazine selected the Mojito 888 as the "sailboat of the year 2015".

Since then, more than 30 units have been delivered in France and Switzerland, proof if any were needed of the adaptability of this original yacht.

Let's remember one of the Mojito 888's strong points: combining the comfort of a family cruiser with the performance of a racing yacht.
