Marex 420, two deck plan versions for cruising in a modern design

In 2024, Marex will unveil its new flagship, the Marex 420, following the award-winning 330 Scandinavia and introducing modern design and different deck configurations for cruising.

A new generation of cruise ships

The Marex 420, unveiled in 2024, introduces a new generation of cruising boats for the Norwegian shipyard. Its dimensions of 13.70 m long and 4.27 m wide are marked by a new design with contemporary lines. It also takes the place of the largest of the 7 models in the range. The Marex 420 will be available in two versions: 420 Gourmet Cruiser with a large U-shaped galley inside and the 420 Scandinavia with a second interior dining room.

The idea is to create a family boat facilitating the life on board, and offering all the amenities expected for the cruise. Thus, we will be able to find on board all the equipment of a modern kitchen, a large beach club, two bathrooms, but also a washing machine.

The new Marex 420 is the result of a collaboration between the Slovenian studio VOM Creations Yacht Design, which works with Saxdor, the naval architecture firm Nikl design and the engineering studio Alpha Creations. The latter are already behind several Marex models, including the award-winning 330 Scandinavia.

Two versions of main and lower deck

One of the main features of the 420 Gourmet Cruiser is its U-shaped galley on the port side. It has a microwave oven, double sink, induction stove and dishwasher. The countertop that connects to the cockpit saloon also has four beverage storage areas, each with a capacity of 24 compartments. The solar panels should provide enough capacity to run the 220-liter refrigerator and 100-liter freezer continuously, without the need for a shore power outlet.

The scandinavian version can offer an additional saloon with a large sofa and two folding stools instead of the galley on the port side. The galley, much smaller, is installed on the starboard side, behind the two pilot seats.

The hard-top has an easy-to-install shade sail, just by sliding it down. You can enjoy a protected or completely open cockpit. A sunbathing area is located on the bow.

Below deck, the layout is offered in two double cabins with their own bathroom or in a 3-cabin, 2-bathroom version. The engine offered is a combination of two Volvo Penta D6 of 440 horsepower as standard, with V-Drive and IPS options of 480 horsepower each.
