Portrait of Erwan Le Roux, Transatlantiques specialist

Erwan Le Roux, leader of the Multi50 class had the ambition to win this 10th edition. He's pretty well on his way to making his dream come true

Erwan Le Roux is a French navigator born in September 1974 in Morbihan. This sea enthusiast for 18 years has forged a name for himself in the world of sailing and has thus been able to rub shoulders with the greatest French sailors such as Marc Guillemot, Loïck Peyron, Franck-Yves Escoffier... He has also run several races alongside them. He made his debut on the Mini circuit and devoted himself to his passion for the ORMA multihull championships of the time. He won several trophies and places of honour: 3 th de la Jacques Vabre in 2 007 in 40 feet, 8 th of the Transat AG2R 2 008, winner of the Tour de France sailing 2 008 and 2 009, French Farr 30 crew champion on Courrier Dunkerque in 2009.

In 2009, he took part in the Transat Jacques Vabre, as co-skipper of Franck-Yves Escoffier, aboard the multi50 Pancakes Whaou ! 3 and then discovered for the first time this class of boat. He will continue along this path aboard the first WindowA-Cardinal in 2010 and will obtain a brand new boat, up to its ambitions, in 2011, with the purchase of the last Whaou pancakes! Erwan Le Roux is now a recognised skipper of the Multi50 class.

In 2010, he took part in the Route du Rhum and finished 6 th of his class. The man who has 11 Transatlantiques to his credit has never hidden his desire to win this 10 th edition. And he's pretty well on his way to getting there
