The meeting point of tradition and classic
The Royal Regattas - Trophée Panerai takes place every year in Cannes and brings together the most beautiful old yachts: classic yachts, traditional sailboats, metric classes and dragons. The opportunity to see them racing on the croisette. This year again, more than sixty metric classes have been added to the eighty classic yachts, some of which are more than a hundred years old. This major yachting event will also be an opportunity to welcome auric rigging, schooners, cutters, sloops, yawls, Class J, monotypes from the last century or 12MJI.
The boats are divided into seven categories, according to the size, age and rigging of the sailboats, to sail between the Massif de l'Esterel and the Lérins Islands, in the Gulf of La Napoule. The Cannes Royal Regatta is also the last annual event of the Panerai Trophy, the world championship for classic yachting.
The Dragons also joined the celebration, with about forty boats from all over Europe and the United States.
Stars at the rendezvous
The biggest and most famous yachts of the last century have gathered in Cannes for this great gathering. Present are Eleonora (49.90m, Nathanaël Herreshof plan), Xarifa (49.70m, JM. Soper plan), Mariquita (38.20m William Wife plan), Moonbeam of Fife III (30m, William Wife plan) or Karenita (23.20m, John Alden plan).

Entertainment and tributes on the Old Port
On the Old Port is the village of Les Régates Royales, from where spectators can admire the amicable battles fought by the most beautiful sailboats of the time. This Thursday, September 24, a tribute was paid to Florence Arthaud, in the presence of Catherine Chabaud, to review her impressive career.
Finally, the "Elegance and Prestige" Trophy, created by the owner of Dorade (1930 Olin Stephens design) will be awarded by a jury that will determine the most elegant crew and sailboat to come to Cannes.
