In 2002, Guillaume Bolo, a computer navigator, realized that he lacked a tide information site to prepare his sea trips from Saint-Malo. Thus maree.info was born: a website that gives water heights, tide times and coefficients. Official and corrected information from the SHOM - to be differentiated from the calculated information which has some discrepancies.
In 2013, this site was strengthened with an application for smartphone and tablet iOS (the application only works on iPhone and iPad, not on Android devices). The Tide.info application (of the same name as the site) is a real tool for browsers. Able to memorize a draft or a threshold to cross, it gives all the useful indications to navigate in tidal waters (coefficient, tidal range, tide time, 1/12 value, etc.) e ?). So efficient that it is a bit difficult to get familiar with it, especially for a user who does not know the tide calculation rules. It is better to know what you are looking for in order to fully exploit this high-performance tool, but reserved for insiders.

Based on this observation, and realizing that many users are not browsers, Guillaume Bolo has just developed an extrapolation of his application called Marée.info Essentiel.
Simpler, more accessible, cheaper, it is intended for all sea-side practitioners (fishermen on foot, beach-goers, tourists...) who just want to know if the sea is rising or falling, when will be the next big tide, or at what time is the low tide?
This application is available free of charge, limited to the display of the next 3 tide days (and with advertising). A subscription at 1.99 euros/year gives access to all the tides of the year (and removes advertising).
