Model deed of sale of a pleasure craft

To sell a boat, a bill of sale must be signed by both parties. Here is a model that can be copied on plain paper.

This document is a simplified model, do not hesitate to complete it if necessary:

  • vessel's condition
  • repairs to be paid for by the seller prior to delivery
  • armament
  • reserves
  • terms of payment
  • In the case of a vessel in joint ownership, specify for each of the sellers or buyers the number of shares

Each party is advised to keep a signed copy of the deed of sale.

The seller has a period of one month to complete the formalities for registering the sale.
