We followed the installation on a Wauquiez Pilot Saloon 40 whose owners were looking to secure the movements of... their dog ! But the nets of dies are also installed for the children or quite simply by the sailors who do not want any more to see falling their crank with water or to intercept the cap fickle!

Calculation of net length
The die thread is extensible. It can be adapted to balconies or balconies between 40 and 60 cm high. With different calculation rules.
Thus to obtain 1 meter of net it is necessary:
- 1.15 m for 40 cm dies
- 1.25 m for 50 cm dies
- 1.40 m for 60 cm dies
For example to cover both sides of the 12 m Pilot Saloon (so need to cover 24 m) with candlesticks that measure 60 high we need :
24 x 1.40 = 33.60 m (therefore 34 m ordered).
Laying the net
The net is installed by removing the upper die and knitting it into the net (the upper and lower parts of the net are reinforced for this).
Then it must be fixed from below. Either we are in the presence of a drilled fargue rail, which will be able to receive the transfilage of a bitch, or the fargue rail is out of solid wood (as it is often the case on the new units), it will then be necessary to pose plastic hooks to tension the net downwards.
This is what is used on our demonstration boat. The hooks are installed every 30 cm, screwed by 2 stainless steel screws. A transfilage in bitch allows a good tension between the hooks.
Step 1 - Dismantle the upper die
Step 2 - Knit the net into the die
Step 3 - Install the slut by knitting it with the bottom of the net
Step 4 - If necessary attach hooks to tension the net
Step 5 - Contemplate the finished work!
Cutting the net
The meshes of the net shall be welded together. This allows it to be safely cut to any length. For that you can use a knife, but it will then be necessary to burn the end so that it sticks by melting and does not detorone, or use a soldering iron to cut and burn in the same operation.
