LED Concept, all solutions for boat lighting

LEDs have revolutionized lighting on board a boat. By offering multiple solutions with a consumption close to ridiculous, we can now light a boat without fear of seeing the battery run down in the night. Explanations.

Lighting on a boat

It's so nice to see well on his boat. Interior lighting is essential for comfort, but also for well-being. A beautiful, well-lit interior makes you want to curl up in it. In a boat, you'd like to put several lights, light up corners, but unlike on land, where all you have to do is press a switch and the light comes on, on board there is the problem of energy autonomy. A light consumes battery power that needs to be recharged.

Luckily for the sailor the LEDs have arrived. Replacing traditional bulbs, these small electronic gems diffuse light with very low consumption.

What's an LED?

The LED (Light Emitting Diode) is a "light emitting diode". It is also called LED in French (Diode électroluminescente) and SSL (Solid State Lighting) in English. It is an optoelectronic component that allows electric current to pass in only one direction (definition of the diode) and emits light.

Unlike the filament bulb, which heats a wire to diffuse light (with an enormous loss of energy as heat), the LED uses all the energy to transform it into light. Hence its very low consumption.

By way of comparison, with the same light output, a LED bulb consumes 10 times less energy than a halogen bulb!

Colour temperature

The first LEDs offered very pale lights. It is said that their temperature is cold (it draws towards blue). Conversely, a "classic" filament bulb has a warm color temperature (it pulls towards yellow). Manufacturers of LED bulbs like LedConcept have taken this criterion into consideration and now produce LED bulbs with warm temperatures.

The nerve!

By adapting LEDs on supports of different shapes and sizes, these bulbs can replace all existing bulbs. Round base, bayonet, screw or G4 type, the LED Concept catalogue offers all the solutions to light your boat.

Advantages of LED lighting
