Oceanvolt, switch your boat to electric motor with ease

Oceanvolt electric motor

For many boaters, switching from internal combustion engines to electric propulsion seems very complicated. Oceanvolt provides a simple solution to install on your boat, with added safety and comfort.

An unchanged structure

Leaving aside your internal combustion engine to switch your boat to electric power makes many boaters dream. It also scares them because they think they have to make major changes to their boats. Oceanvolt now offers electric motor solutions for yachting, in SailDrive and shaft line configuration, which do not require any structural changes to the boat. It is certainly necessary to change the base of the SailDrive, but the interfaces are identical, with the same screws. A DIY sailor can thus install his new electric motor on his own.

Low voltage and safety

Electricity in the marine environment, by definition wet and salty, is another source of fear for the yachtsman. By limiting themselves to a voltage limited to 48 V, Oceanvolt electric motors favour safety. They avoid the risks associated with high voltages and allow a yachtsman to carry out the installation without the need for an electrician's diploma!

Space saving and modularity

The compactness of the Oceanvolt electric motors and the energy chain saves substantial space on board the boat. The fuel tank disappears and the batteries can be optimally positioned for the trim and layout of the boat. The distance between the engine and the batteries dedicated to electricity storage can reach 45 m.

Automatic recharging

While range is often a concern for boaters who want to switch to electric power, Oceanvolt offers an automatic hydrogenation system integrated into these engines. Depending on the torque on the propeller, it works in propulsion if the sail is not enough or in generation, recharging the batteries, if the wind is enough to move the boat forward.

Easy maintenance and comfort on board

Simplicity does not stop at installation. An electric motor offers fewer mechanical parts to change than an internal combustion engine. Maintenance is simplified and the boat owner with an Oceanvolt engine will not have to endure the smell of fuel during DIY. A comfort that you shouldn't sulk about!
