Sailing Yacht Origami, an eccentric concept with an Asian design

SY Origami Project

The designer Georges Lucian creates some rather daring yacht designs. After a completely non-conformist motor yacht project, he returns this time with the Origami Sailing Yacht, a yacht design inspired by the art of paper folding and traditional Asian sailing boats.

Georges Lucian is a 29 year old Monegasque artist who devotes himself to yacht design. After a first motoryacht project, the " Dare to Dream "A 140 m long yacht capable of supporting a 100 m long airship, the young designer is back with a sailboat design this time, christened "Project Origami". A design inspired by pyramidal and triangular shapes, with many edges and angles.

This 100 m long sailing superyacht is inspired by origami - the art of paper folding - and takes design elements from traditional Asian sailing ships. According to its designer, "the characteristics of the yacht make it possible to use modern and innovative technology."

On the port bow of the boat, part of the hull opens completely to become a helicopter landing platform. As the hull is lowered, it gives way to an all-glass wall that lights up the guest quarters at anchor and in calm seas.

The sailboat's mast is installed in the middle of a swimming pool positioned over almost the entire width of the boat and whose walls are made of glass. One installation allows you to climb to the very top of the mast to enjoy an incredible view of the horizon.

Origami Sailing Yacht also has a large upper deck with jacuzzi, sunbathing and relaxation areas.

Next to the tenders, stored in the hull of the yacht, an outboard motorboat takes its place at the bow of the boat, lifted by a crane.

"This project is for an owner who is not afraid of traditional sailing yacht designs, and wants a boat that goes beyond what has been built before, in terms of design, technology and environmental friendliness." explains Georges Lucian.
